Want to remove or hide the crew field in the Time sheets layout

Even tried to hide the field from Module Layout & fields as well, but still the field is appearing in the timesheets

Reason

User cannot remove or hide it, because it is hardcoded field

Solution

1. User can remove the field from the code of the CRM. It is not encouraged because it can cause adverse effects on the CRM, ranging from Timesheets not working to the CRM stops responding properly

2. VTExperts can customize and hide the field. But, it will be a billable support

Can we keep track of employee's time in Vtiger?

Yes, you can keep track of employee's time in Vtiger.

Timesheets is an extension for VTiger designed to elegantly track employee (user) time, with ability to visualize it. It supports custom periods, where you can adjust the length of the period to fit your business. In addition, periods can be locked to prevent any further modifications. It’s simplistic design, makes it extremely easy to log the time and specify the reason, description as well as associate it with an existing record in vtiger.

Here are the steps to achieve this

1. Go to Timesheets and click the drop down named as “Pay Period” that gives you the option to select a specific pay period from the list and view the time-logs for it.

1. Select the Employee to open his time logs.

1. Its showing the name of the user for which the time-log is being viewed and the Pay Period selected currently.

1. Here you can see the types of the hours categorized and totaled.

1. This column enlists days for the selected Pay Period. Each row shows a day.

1. At the bottom right of the sheet, you can see the total number of hours logged during a specific Pay Period. The total for one day is also calculated in the “Worked” column in each row.

Problem

You want to extract data from the timesheets as per you need. For example the total number of hours worked by all the users or hours worked on billable projects

Solution

This can be done using reports module. Configure a report on timesheets and extract the information that you desire

Here is an example of calculating the total hours logged by all the user Go to reports, configure a detailed report

Make sure to select the Timesheets in the primary module

Specify the fields that you want to show on the report. Make sure to select the total hours field

Specify any condition if applicable

Finally, Save and generate the report

Problem

User tried to access the time logs of all the other employees, but can only see his/her own time logs only

Reason

The reason a user cannot see the time logs of other users is that, they do not have admin privileges

Explanation

A non admin user can only see his own time logs in VTExperts Timesheets

An Admin user can access the time logs of all the users of the CRM

Solution

1. Change the role of the user to admin, to whom you want to provide access to the time logs of all the users. Note: Admin user can access every record in the CRM

2. What if you want to give a user full access to time logs and limited access to some other record? Then, We can customize a semi-admin role, who have all the admin privileges but can be modified as per your requirement
