Google Workspace Email Forwarding for Vtiger Mail Converter
Create new Email Account
The first step is to create a new Google Workspace email account/user e.g crm@yourdomain.com which will be used by Vtiger Mail Converter.
The instructions on how to create a new email/user account are NOT provided in this guide.
Go to Compliance Settings in Google Workspace Admin
Open Google Workspace Admin and navigate to Apps > Google Workspace > Gmail > Compliance.
Add a New Compliance Rule
On the Compliance page, scroll down to Content Compliance and hit [ADD ANOTHER RULE].
Configure the Compliance Rule
Content Compliance
Forward to @CRM
(or similar).
1. Email messages to affect: (select all)
2. Add expressions that describe the content you want to search for in each message:
If
ALL
of the following match the message
(This is not a default value, you will need to select it).
2. Add an Expression
Hit ADD to add a new expression.
Select:
Advanced content Match
Location:
Full Headers
Match type:
Not contains text
Content:
GS-FORWARD-TO-VTIGER
Hit SAVE.
3. If the above expressions match, do the following
Select Modify Message
Select Headers: Add Custom Headers
Hit ADD
to add a new header.
Add Setting
Fill in the header:
X-: RULE
: GS-FORWARD-TO-VTIGER
Hit SAVE.
3. Add more recipients
Scroll down to: Also delivery to
Tick the box: Add more recipients
Hit ADD
Add Settings
Select: Advanced
Under Envelope Recipient, check Change envelope recipient
Check Replace recipient
Input: crm@yourdomain.com
Scroll down to Headers
Check Add custom headers
Hit Add
Add Setting
Fill in the header:
X-: RULE
: GS-FORWARD-TO-VTIGER
Hit SAVE.
Finally, SAVE the rule
Validate forwarding
To validate the rule, follow the steps below.
Validate Incoming Email
Send an email to your business email (john@yourdomain.com), from a non-business email account (johnsmith123@yahoo.com).
Confirm you've received the email in your business account (john@yourdomain.com).
Confirm you've received the email in crm@yourdomain.com.
Validate Outgoing Email
From your business email (john@yourdomain.com) reply to the message sent from non-business email (johnsmith123@yahoo.com).
Confirm you've received the email in your non-business account (johnsmith123@yahoo.com).
Confirm you've received the email in crm@yourdomain.com.
